Interview: Amber Garr & Eviana!

Hello, everyone! I'm happy to say that we have Amber Garr joining us today for an interview. And not just her, we have the protagonist of Promises joining us too. Let us welcome Amber Garr and Eviana!

Amber Garr
What was your favorite book as a child?
Where the Wild Things Are…it’s really the first one I remember.

Do you listen to music? What is your favorite genre?
Yes!!! I love music and listen to it all day long. I listen to pretty much everything except for country. I really like playing the songs that I can sing along with.

Describe Promises in three words.
Intriguing, emotional, addicting

If you could change the title of Promises, what would you change it to?
Great question and I never thought about that…perhaps I’d change it to Torn or Desire??

Which character do you relate to the most? Why?
I think it would be Eviana. I know that she's young and has a lot of maturing to do, but I can
relate to the pressure of wanting to succeed and do it in a way that will benefit all. I remember
feeling torn between people and life choices when I was her age, and I suppose some of those
experiences made their way into the series!

Thank you for being with us Mrs. Amber Garr! :) Do you have any parting words?
Thank you so much for having us on your blog! I am happy that you enjoyed Promises and hope
you like the rest of the series!

****
Now that we've had the brilliant author answer questions, we managed to get Eviana to join us here, too. For all of you who don't know, Eviana is the heroine of Promises.
Eviana
Were you spoiled as a child?
(Laughs) Yes, I guess you can say that. My family comes from a long line of clan leaders and so
my sister and I lived in a nice house and had lots of things. But that’s what they do…spoil the
children when they are young because once you become a leader, you lose all freedom.

How was it adjusting to living in a large house to living in a small apartment?
I actually loved it. But that was probably because Brendan was there with me. He’s so easy
going and laid back…we could have been living out of a car and we still would have been happy.

I'm sure you knew this was coming, but tell us about what you think of Kain and
Brendan? *wink* Where do you think your relationships are headed with Kain and
Brendan?
Two gorgeous boys who aren’t thrilled with me right now.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with Brendan and me. I love him more than anyone in this
world, but right now the future of our relationship is up in the air and he’s the one that will have
to decide where we go from here. I’m trying to be calm and polite and give him his space, but
it’s really hard. I miss him.

And Kain (sighs), he’s such a wonderful person. He always has been. I hurt him pretty bad and
I fear that we will never be able to get past that. Regardless of what happens between Brendan
and me, I hope that I don’t lose Kain.

In Promises, it's noticeable that you get along better with your father. Were you ever
close to your mother? Why or why not?
My mother and I have always had a love-hate relationship. It’s been a struggle the last couple of
years ever since I told her about Brendan. She doesn’t want me embarrassing the clan or family
by dating a selkie, especially since I was next in line for leadership. But really, we got along
when it comes to most other things…as long as I stayed away from my boyfriend.

Now that you know you're the clan leader, what do you think of your new rise to power?
Are you ready to see your sister again?
I’m terrified. This wasn’t supposed to happen until I was much older and wiser and really ready
to lead my clan. I don’t know how I’m going to do this, and I think I’m going to need Kain now
more than ever. I just hope he can forgive me. Marisol is the only family I have left, but I fear
that she’s going to blame me for the deaths and make my life even more miserable. I love her
and miss her, and hopefully we will move past this too.

Well, Eviana, thank you for being with us today. It was a pleasure for me to interview you,
and I hope maybe you'll be willing to join us after your next adventure, Betrayal.

Yes, definitely! There is much more to come in Betrayal and I’d be happy to talk to you about
all of that later.

****

I'm so glad that both Mrs. Amber Garr and Eviana could join us today. Thank you! Until next time, everyone!

Interview: Laura Powell (Author of Burn Mark)

Me: Hello, everyone! Today I have the lovely miss Laura Powell joining us as part of the Burn Mark tour. Let's give her a warm welcome!

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?
I live in London, which is my dream city and a crazy mix of all sorts of different cultures, styles and stories. But I also love the place I grew up--a remote valley in Wales, with a ruined castle across the way, ravens, wild ponies and waterfalls. As long as I get to visit both, I'm happy.

Q: What do you do when you're not writing?
I'm into experimental baking, binge sleeping, and people-watching from the top of a double-decker bus.

Q: Is there a fellow author you would like to meet?
I'd like to meet Jane Austen at a really posh party; we'd hide out in the restroom and gossip about all the other guests.

Q: How do you promote your book(s)?
I've been doing some school visits, which is really nerve-wracking but a lot of fun, as most of my writing life involves sitting in solitary silence in front of a computer. I also try and update my website www.laurapowellauthor.com, tweet Laura Powell @L_R_Powell and check in on my Facebook page. Oh, and I beg all my family and friends to go to bookshops and move my titles to the front of the shelf. (I think all authors do this, even if they don't admit to it.)

Q: What's your method of reading(ebook, paperback/hardback)?
I'm an old-fashioned book snob. I love to collect hardbacks, and hate stained pages, cracked spines or smudgy covers. I think having lots of shelves of beautiful books is the best way to decorate a room. So I never lend people books--I only give them!

Me: Well, once again, thank you for being with us today, miss Laura Powell. I'm leaving some links below where you can take a look at Burn Mark, which released on June 19.

Interview with M. Leighton + Giveaway

Hello, everyone! Today we have an interview with Miss M. Leighton, the author of For the Love of a Vampire! We will ask her a few question, and then we will move on to the giveaway. Miss Leighton has kindly provided us with an ebook copy of her book. Shall we begin?

What are your thoughts on the cover?
I wanted the cover to be simple yet convey the intensity of the relationship between Bo and Ridley.  I didn’t realize at the time, but that is an enormous task!  LOL

What makes For the Love of a Vampire special?
These days, anything with a male vampire gets compared to Twilight.  While my book shares the basic vampire-boy-meets-human-girl scenario, that is where the similarities end.  My vampires are darker with much different abilities/weaknesses and Bo is a tortured soul with a clouded past.  Oh yeah, and he has a death wish that complicates his life and threatens Ridley’s love.

Can you tell us more about Ridley?
Ridley is a cheerleader and reformed "popular" girl.  She has suffered tremendous loss and her eyes were opened to real life at great personal cost.  Her unhappy home life is something she is singularly focused on escaping.  Ridley is a girl with a plan.  Until she meets Bo.

What do you think is your biggest accomplishment?
I’ve heard so, so, so many people talk of writing a book, and yet not one of the people I’ve heard talk about it have actually done it.  I think writing an entire novel, sitting down and typing out thousands upon thousands of words, is one of my greatest accomplishments.  Being able to sell it is another.  I’m blessed in ways I never thought possible.

What is your biggest fear?
Writing junk.  Absolute crap.  One of my deepest desires is for every book I write to be better than the last.  That generates a fear that I will fail.  But I try.  I always try-- very hard-- to put out better work.  To write better, think better, weave better, to just do and be…better.

What is the longest book you’ve read? Did you like it?
I’m not certain of exact length, but I would guess either The Thornbirds or Twilight. They are both fairly long books, I think.  I loved them both!  I TRIED to read War and Peace.  Does that count?

What are three things that you never leave home without?
My purse, my phone and my underwear:D

What is your favorite drink?
If we’re talking soda, it’s a toss-up between Coke and Dr. Pepper.  If we’re talking “adult beverage” *snickers* it would be a chocolate martini.  They are TO. DIE. FOR.

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, who would it be? What restaurant would you take her/him to?
I’d probably want to take Jersey.  I couldn’t take one of the guys because I’m married and that would SO not be a good idea.  LOL  So I’d settle for lots of fun and laughter with Jersey from the Madly series.  That girl!  You just never know what she’s gonna say or do.  I’d take her to someplace like Senior Frogs, wind her up, let her go and sit back to watch the show!

Any parting word for our readers?
I spent the better part of two decades working jobs I hated.  I remember reading somewhere that you should find a way to make a living doing what you love. I didn’t really understand how I could do that because I didn’t really have a “love” yet.  And then I wrote my first book.  I had dreamed for years of having a job that I loved, or even liked, although I had no idea what that job would be.  But I found it.  Or it found me.  I’m not sure which.  The moral of this story is that you should never give up hope. Dreams can become reality in the strangest places at the strangest times and, when they do, they will ROCK YOUR WORLD!

Thank you for taking the time to do an interview with me, Miss Leighton! Now, let's look at a little information about where to find For the Love of a Vampire and Miss Leighton.

Blog Tour: Interview with Laura Eno

Hello, everyone! Today we have an interview with the lovely author of My Enchanted Life, Miss Laura Eno! This is part of the My Enchanted Life Tour over at Enchanting Book Tours.

Where were you born? Do you consider this home?
I was born and raised in San Diego, CA but I no longer consider that home. I like to move a lot, so home is always the next place I'm headed.

How long have you been writing?
Many years ago I wrote poetry but as far as fiction, about three years.

Which character speaks the loudest to you?

Always the one I'm currently writing about! At the moment, it would be David, my main character in an epic fantasy I'm working on.

Have you based any of your characters on real people or events?
I hope not! Since I write fantasy and paranormal, my imagination has more oddities than real events.

How did you come up with the book title?
Book titles are tough for me. I usually wait until the book is finished and try to capture the essence of the story in the title. For My Enchanted Life the title conveys how my main character feels about her new life.

Do you have a specific writing style?
I have the beginning and ending in mind before I wrte a story but, other than that, the rest comes together as I'm writing it.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years I'd like to have at least twenty more novels published.

What is your favorite drink?
Water. Boring, huh?

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, who would it be? What restaurant would you take her/him to?
I'd like to have dinner with Cussard. A restaurant really wouldn't work out though, since he's a dragon. Maybe we'd have a picnic, instead.

Any parting word for our readers?

I don't write in the current dark vein of vampires and werewolves which are so popular these days. My novels are lighter than that, dealing instead with themes of acceptance and understanding what you can do with your life. Some people love them, some don't, but I won't change what speaks to me in order to fit into a mold. If that concept appeals to you, then I hope you'll enjoy my books and I appreciate everyone who gives me a try.
Thank you for having me here today, Celise!

It was a pleasure having you with us today, Miss Eno! I've left links to both My Enchanted Life and Miss Eno's info so that you can find out more. Have fun! :)

Book Tour: Interview with Nancy Straight

Hello, everyone! Today I am participating in the Meeting Destiny Tour, which is held by Enchanting Book Tours. We have the lovely Nancy Straight with us today. She is going to tell us about herself and her book. Shall we get started?

How long have you been writing?

I began writing Meeting Destiny in Sep of 2009, so almost three years. I published Meeting Destiny Aug 2011, Destiny’s Revenge Sep 2011 and Destiny’s Wrath Jan 2012.

Who/What inspired you to write?

I’m a hopeless romantic, believing that there really is someone out there for everyone. If by some chance you don’t connect with them the first time, fate will find a way to reintroduce you until you click. I liked this idea and took it a step further, that a couple truly devoted to one another could share multiple lifetimes together. This story had been in my head for a while screaming to get out – no single event inspired me, I really just decided to let the story out.

Describe Meeting Destiny in three words.
Adrenalin-filled Love

If you had to retitle your book, what would it be? Why?
LOL! I am HORRIBLE with titles. I recently ran a contest on my blog for my next novel, letting my friends / fans choose a title for my next book. It worked out so well that I decided I’d never come up with my own titles again. So, if I had to re-title Meeting Destiny, I would definitely ask for help.

If you could have any actor/actress play Lauren in a movie, who would it be?
Jennifer Lawrence

Do you have any pet(s)? Tell us about them if you do.
Gus and Randy are our two Doberman Pinchers, they’re brothers and are five years old. Flash is my Jack Russell Terrier, he’s six years old and is absolutely rotten, but I love him dearly. Flash is convinced he’s the Alpha Male and most of the time Gus and Randy let him believe it, other times they remind him he could easily be their chew toy. I have a stray cat that I feed every night and morning but she’s never let me get closer than within 3 feet of her – I keep thinking eventually I’ll wear her down and she’ll let me
pet her.

What is your favorite drink?
Mountain Dew - but only the Mt Dew bottled in the US. I was in Canada a few months ago and found out the hard way that theirs is caffeine free! I had the WORST caffeine withdrawal headaches before one of the locals took pity on me and told me I was going through caffeine withdrawals. Luckily, the White Chocolate Mochas from Starbucks were fully caffeinated.

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, who would it be? What restaurant would you take her/him to?
I would love to have dinner with Lauren. Bella Napoli in North Charleston, SC is my favorite restaurant so I’m sure that’s where we’d go.

Any parting words for our readers?
Meeting Destiny is FREE at all bookstores. I’d love for you to check it out!

Thank you for being with us today, Ms. Straight. I've listed some links that provide us with information on Meeting Destiny and where you can stalk Ms. Nancy Straight. ;)
